Having studied German and Russian language, literature and history at Edinburgh, Strathclyde & Vienna Universities, Susan found her way into tourism through student jobs in the sector. Susan has now worked in the whisky tourism industry for over 30 years inspiring and educating visitors and staff alike about Scotland’s national drink. She is one of only a handful of females to hold the prestigious title of Master of the Quaich – having been inducted as a Keeper in 2000 and elevated to Master in 2010.
Susan was chair of the Association of Scottish Visitor Attractions (ASVA) from 2019-2022, and vice-chair from 2015-2019. She was also a member of the business leaders’ group Vistage from 2017-2021. When not enjoying a dram or time with the family, Susan can be found in a variety of classes at the gym, practising yoga or being walked by her dog.
