Biography

I am a Senior Lecturer in the Tourism & Languages subject Group. I joined Edinburgh Napier University in 2005 following appointments at the University of Stirling and several years of work as a freelance lexicographer.

I am interested in various aspects of communication, mediated through language, advertising and translation in fields spanning Applied Language Studies, Intercultural Communication, Discourse Analysis, Semiotics and Promotional Discourse. In my teaching capacity I lead and teach several modules in French, translation, communication and advertising and supervise undergraduate and post-graduate dissertations.

I am a senior Fellow of the HEA with expertise in curriculum design and development and have a deep interest in fostering stimulating and enabling learning environments.
