Biography

Dr Dubem Ikediashi is a Lecturer in Construction Law at the School of Computing, Engineering, and the Built Environment, Edinburgh Napier University where he teaches Property and Construction Business Law, Health and Safety Law, Renewable Energy and Finance Law among other areas of Construction Law.
Prior to joining Edinburgh Napier University, he was an Associate Professor of Construction Management and Head of Department, Building (comprising Building Surveying, Building Services, and Construction Management) at the University of Uyo, Uyo, Nigeria and editor-in-chief of the Department’s flagship journal, Journal of Contemporary Research in the Built Environment. He has been a member of accreditation panels for Nigeria’s National Universities Commission and is a corporate member of Nigerian Institute of Building (NIOB) and a chartered Builder (F.1392) in Nigeria.
Dr Ikediashi had his PhD (Construction Management) from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh; M.Sc. (Construction Management) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria and B.Sc. (Hons) Building from University of Jos, Jos, Nigeria.
His research interest covers a range of areas in Construction Project management, Facilities Management and Pedagogy. He has published widely with over 50 articles in very high impact journals and conference proceedings and has been a member of Research and Scientific Review Committee of several International Conferences. He is also a reviewer to several highly rated journals. He has successfully supervised and mentored several PhD students and is currently a PhD external examiner to several universities.
His current research is focused on using structural equation modelling to investigate the mediating role of research informed teaching on the relationship between lecturers’ pedagogy and teaching quality of construction and engineering in UK universities.
