Biography

Sayed Faruque is a Researcher in Transport Planning and Modelling with more than 10 years of expertise in this field. After the undergraduate degree, Sayed stepped further for an MSc in Transport Planning from the University of Leeds, UK. Sayed has a broad spectrum of transport planning experiences from the UK (London), Middle East, and Bangladesh. Presently, Sayed is a PhD candidate at the Edinburgh Napier University, where he is researching peoples' perception of owning and using driverless vehicles in different urban contexts. With this aim, he follows a discreet choice modelling technique to analyze the online data related to this topic. With affiliations of several transport organizations, Sayed has the expertise in traffic impact studies, strategic (e.g., VISUM, VISTRO) and micro-simulation model development (e.g., VISSIM); discreet choice modelling application in transport; GIS application in spatial and transport data visualization; DfT transport modelling guidance and application of WebTAG.
