The Scottish Resource Centre for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology works to create sustainable change for the participation of women in science, engineering, technology and built environment (SET) sectors in Scotland through:
Changing employment practices and workplace cultures to support gender equality;
Supporting the recruitment, retention, and success of women where they are significantly under-represented
What we do
Work with employers and organisations, to encourage family-friendly contracts in science, engineering and technology and remove barriers to women’s participation and progression in these sectors. Work with women with science, engineering and technology qualifications, to support their career progression.
Support women STEM students in colleges and universities through Interconnect, an e-forum for student groups building on work piloted at Edinburgh Napier University, in partnership with NUS Scotland.
Pilot Equality and Diversity training with construction students and apprentices in Scottish colleges and universities.
Research factors affecting the progression of women and men ConstructionSkills apprentices at 10 Scottish colleges.
Develop support for women students in Built environment.
