Informing the Good Society Final Symposium

The concluding meeting of the InGSoc Project took place on Friday 15 April 2016. The one-day symposium, set in the august surroundings of Merchiston Tower boardroom (where John Napier invented logarithms), featured a range of speakers from academia, journalism and the blogosphere. The common link between the papers, all of which generated intensive discussion, was the central theme of the Informing the Good Society project as a whole: how can information, in its various forms and phases, help to develop a better democracy and society? The day ended with an extended plenary discussion. Papers will be available in Spring 2017 in a conference issue of the Journal of Information Ethics.
