3D printing education as a means of building confidence and preparing children for skills considered necessary for the 21st century. A grounded theory study verified by empirical research
This research will seek to understand how digital making might be integrated into schools and other educational contexts. ‘Wee Replicators’, a mobile 3D printing education service, will provide opportunities for this PhD to better understand existing behaviours and identify areas where change and innovation may take place.

By inspiring and equipping children with the ability to use digital tools, it is hoped that the next generation of designers will be better prepared to deal with the problems of the future.
