Dissident Distilling
Dissident Spirits Ltd intends to employ a novel heating method in the production of Scotch whisky by using thermal oil as the medium of heat transfer, allowing the production to run entirely electrically, thus reducing our onsite carbon emissions to true zero. This is an untested design in whisky production, and so requires a clear understanding of energy demand throughout the process.
Additionally, the Scotch Whisky Association has set industry targets of achieving net zero by 2040. If this heat transfer process is a success, it is hoped to roll it our across the Sector and generate a third revenue stream for the business, whilst trailblazing a blueprint for a method of reducing carbon emissions to net zero.
