Shinty Caman
  Interface request
The ancient art of making shinty sticks – or camans – in Scotland is under threat of dying out.

Investigate the required properties and characterise the properties of Shinty sticks. review manufacturing methods to identify cost saving or time aspects where possible.
The construction and materials of potential new designs are yet to be identified and academic expertise will be required for material composition selection (traditionally made from ash wood, but now more commonly, American hickory) and whether these could be manufactured at less cost.
