MSc Timber Engineering Scholarships

Edinburgh Napier University has industry funded scholarships available on its MSc Timber Engineering and MSc Timber Industry Management – for September 2015 starts - both unique courses in the UK and addressing a long-acknowledged skills gap in the sector.

The MSc Timber Engineering covers topics including timber design and construction, environmentally sustainable design and project management. The MSc Timber Industry Management covers sustainable buildings, management, timber construction, risk analysis and building performance.

Prospective students will receive £3750 towards course costs, with a number of the available scholarships also offering a one-off sum (eg. £500 to £1200) to help cover living costs.

Scholars will be assigned a 'company mentor' who can assist with career development, and will have the opportunity to engage with the sponsor company to gain valuable industry insight and experience during their studies, which could lead to employment opportunities. There are no "tie-in" clauses with any of the student's arrangements, meaning the scholarships are not provided merely to ensure the student joins the company upon graduation; this is a welcome arrangement which provides flexibility all round.

Eligibility

The expectation is that applicants should be domiciled (ie. reside or be based) in the UK and should be eligible to work in the UK.
