Lidice from Mexico talks about her life at Edinburgh Napier University.

Lidice Rueda-Cornejo, MBA with Leadership Practice

“To me, it is really important to find the balance between theory and practical work”

As a single mother, it was very important for me to find the balance between theory learnt and applicability to real working life.  When I chose to study an MBA with Leadership Practice, I thought that it would give me extra benefits over other programmes, as this is a two year (18 month) course in which you have the opportunity to learn, reflect and practice; and it is exactly what I found.

Finding the balance between theory and practical work will help me combine every aspect of my background and experience to start up my own business. And this is exactly what this course has given to me, along with friendly and accessible support from the lecturers and staff.

“The first impression I had of Edinburgh Napier was the friendly and professional support that I received”

I have been studying here at Edinburgh Napier University for 4 years and I always had the support from the international department, CV doctors and people at the library.  It is an enjoyable experience to be using the facilities of this University, as it is a combination of up-to-date technology and the character that you can distinguish in this city.

I remember that the first impression I had of the University was the friendly and professional service that I received when I first enrolled to study here.

“I enjoy the character of this beautiful city”

I have been living in Edinburgh more than just these four years that I have been studying at Edinburgh Napier University and what I enjoy most is the character of this beautiful city. It is full of different activities and experiences that anyone can have year-round with a sense of friendliness, security and peacefulness

“I will graduate in July and I am applying to Edinburgh Napier University to start a PhD”

At this moment I have just finished my MBA. I will have my graduation ceremony in July and I am applying to Edinburgh Napier University to start a PhD as soon as possible and at the same time asking Bright Red Triangle for support to start up my own business.

I have been working on this idea for the last year, focusing my module projects on developing my knowledge about it. Hopefully, if I get the support, I will be able to keep developing myself academically with the PhD and professionally with my own business to support myself and my daughter.
