Weiguang from China talks about his life at Edinburgh Napier University.
Weiguang Ran, BSc (Hons) Computing

"My favourite part about studying at Edinburgh Napier is the facilities that are available to students."

My favourite part about studying at Edinburgh Napier is the facilities that are available to students. In particular, the Jack Kilby Computing Centre, the library and the Asian cuisine. I always go to the JKCC to study. The computers are of very good quality and useful for students. The support facilities at the University are very helpful. So far I have only used the immigration support, which I found extremely useful, in particular for international students when they just arrive in Edinburgh and at Edinburgh Napier.

"Edinburgh is a beautiful city, full of history and a comfortable environment for students to live."

Scotland is a good country to live and study, especially in Edinburgh! Edinburgh is a beautiful city, full of history and a comfortable environment for students to live. My former university and Edinburgh Napier have a partnership, meaning that I can study my third year and fourth year at Edinburgh Napier. During my undergraduate studies in computing I have became pasisonate for IT, building websites, video editing and programming. During my BSc I had to do a project with four other students which really developed my project skills and was a fun experience.

"Living and studying in Edinburgh has been unforgettable."

Living and studying in Edinburgh has been unforgettable. The Scottish culture is something I really enjoy. Since arriving in Edinburgh I have visited St.Andrews and Glasgow. Glasgow is a modern city, but St.Andrews is a beautiful and clean town and it made me feel really relaxed. I also have a part-time job which I secured through the University. I am an International Student Ambassador which involves carrying out a range of roles across the University.

"When I graduate from my undergraduate course, I would like to continue studying."

When I graduate from my undergraduate course, I would like to continue studying. I really enjoy Edinburgh and Glasgow, so I would like to study in one of the two cities for a postgraduate degree that is related to my undergraduate degree, like website design or programming
