Our exchange programmes are currently available to full-time, undergraduate students.

Erasmus+

The Erasmus+ exchange programme gives you the opportunity to study or work in another European country. The programme counts towards your degree and will add an international dimension to your studies.

You don’t pay tuition fees at your host institution, but you’ll need to fund your living costs while on the programme.

International exchange programmes

If you're keen to study further afield, we have links around the world including Australia, Canada, China, New Zealand and the USA. Depending on your course you may be able to study through a Direct Partner Institution or International Student Exchange Program.

You don’t pay tuition fees at your host institution, but you may have to pay for your Visa and application fees depending on your programme and destination. You’ll also need to fund your living costs while overseas.

Short-term exchange opportunities

Have a summer adventure with our short-term exchange opportunities. These are ideal if you want to travel on a budget or don't want to leave Edinburgh during term time. You’ll explore different cultures, meet new people and brush up on your language skills.

Exchange programmes for visiting students

We offer exchange opportunities for students from all over the world. If you’re currently studying outside the UK you can spend a trimester with us as part of your degree. This will give you a global perspective on your studies as you experience life in this exciting, historic and cultured capital city.

Volunteer abroad

VBase is our volunteering framework that has been developed by Edinburgh Napier Students' Association, through which students can access and apply for volunteering opportunities in the UK and overseas. VBase offer advice and support including visa and funding information for volunteering abroad and information on volunteering in your local community.

Working abroad is a great way to develop your skills and experience, show your adaptability and boost your CV.
