English as a Foreign Language
You can get support in English language skills in the following ways:
We offer a variety of courses, ranging from 4 to 12 weeks long, for students already accepted on a degree course with an English language condition in your offer letter. These help to improve English and academic skills, while giving you the chance to familiarise yourself with the University. The courses also offer organised trips to local tourist attractions and a day trip to another part of Scotland.
We also have a year-round EFL course available.
Find out more about our pre-sessional English courses or
download our pre-sessional English brochure.
EFL modules (20 credits)
There are three credit-bearing EFL modules available in trimester one and trimester two. These modules, ranging from lower intermediate to advanced level, last for one trimester and count towards your degree.
EFL modules help you improve all your English skills and build confidence in interactive, international groups. You will develop your communication skills as well as a range of employability skills such as writing reports, giving presentations and seminars, negotiating and working in a team.
