Getting here

By air

All of our campuses are easily accessible from Edinburgh International Airport.

If you're travelling to Sighthill Campus or Bankhead workspace, take the Lothian Bus 35 from outside the arrivals lounge. You will need £1.50 in exact change per journey, or £4 for an all-day ticket.

For all other campuses, take an Airlink bus to Haymarket station from outside the arrivals lounge and get a taxi from there.

Alternatively, taxis from the airport should take about 10-15 minutes to get to Sighthill, and 20-25 minutes to the other campuses.

By rail

When arriving in Edinburgh, most trains (except East Coast trains) pass through Haymarket station before continuing to Waverley in the city centre. Taxis take approximately 15-20 minutes to reach each of the campuses from Haymarket.

Alternatively, take any of these buses on Princes Street (from Waverley station) or Lothian Road (from Haymarket):

  • Craiglockhart - 4 (goes past Haymarket), 10
  • Merchiston - 11, 15, 15A and 16 and 36 - get off at Holy Corner (at the junction of Morningside Road and Colinton Road) and the campus is 300 metres down Colinton Road. The 45 stops outside Merchiston campus.
  • Sighthill - 3 and 25 go past Haymarket. 325 and 34 go past Waverley.

Train times are available from National Rail Enquiries.

Parking on campus is extremely limited during office hours. Only staff with a permit and authorised visitors are allowed to park on campus.
Visitors arriving by car are encouraged to ask their event organiser what parking arrangements are in place.
If you don't have an Edinburgh Napier parking, permit we advise you to use public transport to get to the campus.
Student permit applications can only be accepted where availability allows. We regret that we can't guarantee students will be allowed to park on campus, as the permit scheme is designed primarily for staff and disabled students.
The car parks are unrestricted in the evening and at weekends.
