Entry requirements

Undergraduate

For all courses (with the exception of those listed below) students would usually be required to have completed the Baccalauréat/Baccalauréat avec Option Internationale/Baccalauréat Tecknologique with Grade 12 or above. If a course requires a specific subject at grade B at SQA Higher then grade 12 will be required.

Please note that international students are unable to enrol onto the Nursing programmes.

International Baccalaureate

Award of Diploma with between 26 and 29 points or above depending on the course you choose to apply for. If a course requires a specific subject at grade B at SQA Higher then grade 5 or above in HL is required. Please see each individual course webpage for specific entry requirements.

European Baccalaureate

Pass with between 60 and 70% depending on the course you choose to apply for. If a course requires a specific subject at grade B at SQA Higher then 70% is required. Please see each individual course webpage for specific entry requirements.

Postgraduate

A Licence or Maîtrise with an overall grade of 12 out of 20 or above (Assez Bien).

English language

Students from France are required to have obtained English language at grade 12. Alternatively, you can sit an English language test to gain entry to the University.

We offer various pre-sessional English language programmes for applicants who have test results below the programme requirement. Some courses may require a higher English language score. Please search for the course you're interested in to find out more.

Pathway programmes

Edinburgh Napier University International College (ENUIC) is an embedded on campus college for international students to start their studies at Edinburgh Napier University. It is located in the historic, city centre campus of Merchiston, with easy access to student accommodation.

Pathway programmes at ENUIC prepare students for their chosen future degree with academic and English language support. ENUIC offers students the option between International Stage One, International Stage Two, or an International Incorporated Masters.

International Year One
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Baccalauréat Professionel (Vocational Baccalauréat (BacPro): GPA: 10/20

Baccalauréat Technologique / Baccalauréat General / French Baccalauréat, Option International du Baccalauréat: GPA: 10/20

International Year Two

English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Baccalauréat Professionel (Vocational Baccalauréat (BacPro): GPA: 11/20 OR Baccalauréat Technologique / Baccalauréat General: GPA: 10.5/20 OR French Baccalauréat, Option International du Baccalauréat - 10.3/20

Postgraduate

International Incorporated Masters
– One Term IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components
– Two Terms IELTS 5.5 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components

Academic requirement - Diplôme d'Études Universitaires Générales OR Licence /Grade de Licence or Diplôme d'Ingénieur: minimum pass or  10/20
