Entry requirements

Undergraduate

You are eligible to apply if you have completed the ΑΠΟΛΥΤΗΡΙΟ ΓΕΝΙΚΟΥ ΛΥΚΕΙΟΥ (Upper Secondary School Leaving Certificate), transliteration: Apolytírio Genikoú Lykeíou with a minimum of 17 in 3 subjects or an overall average grade of 17. If a course requires a specific subject at grade B at SQA Higher then grade 17 in the Apolytirio will be required.

Please note that international students are unable to enrol onto the Nursing programmes.

International Baccalaureate

If you are applying with an International Baccalaureate (IB), you are eligible if you have a minimum score of 26-29 or above. If a course requires a specific subject at grade B at SQA Higher then grade 5 or above in higher level is required. Visit our course pages to find out more

European Baccalaureate

If you are applying with a European Baccalaureate, you are eligible if you have gained either 60 or 70% depending on the course you choose to apply for. If a course requires an SQA Higher grade B then 70% is required. Visit our course pages to find out more.

Postgraduate

You are eligible to apply if you have gained a Ptychio (awarded by a TEI) 6.5/10 (65%) or above Ptychio (awarded by an AEA) 5.5/10 (55%) or above.

English language

You are required to sit an English language test to gain entry to the University.

We offer various pre-sessional English language programmes for applicants who have test results below the programme requirement. Some courses may require a higher English language score. Please search for the course you're interested in to find out more.

Pathway programmes

Edinburgh Napier University International College (ENUIC) is an embedded on campus college for international students to start their studies at Edinburgh Napier University. It is located in the historic, city centre campus of Merchiston, with easy access to student accommodation.

Pathway programmes at ENUIC prepare students for their chosen future degree with academic and English language support. ENUIC offers students the option between International Stage One, International Stage Two, or an International Incorporated Masters.

 

Undergraduate

International Year One
English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Upper Secondary School (Lykeio) Leaving Certificate (Apolytirio) Overall of 10 (46%-50%). For Science and Technology Degrees a minimum grade of 10/20 in maths is required

International Year Two

English language requirement – IELTS 5.5 with no less than 5.5 in each component.

Academic requirement - Upper Secondary School (Lykeio) Leaving Certificate (Apolytirio) 13 (61%-65%). For Science and Technology Degrees a minimum grade of 10/20 in maths is required

Postgraduate

International Incorporated Masters
– One Term IELTS 6.0 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components
– Two Terms IELTS 5.5 overall with 5.5 minimum in all components

Academic requirement - Diploma/Degree Ptychio with a grade of 5/10 overall.
