Running from 4pm-6pm on Thursday, 14 July, the Afternoon of Science event is set to be a stimulating two hours of research, with talks, demonstrations and presentations covering the exciting work currently ongoing within the School.

Open to all – from students, budding scientists, GPs, parents and members of the public, the event is an opportunity to hear from Edinburgh Napier researchers – academics, technicians and students – on a range of topics, from drug discovery and infectious diseases to mangrove plantations, e-cigarettes and ethics.

Dr Samantha MK Donnellan, lecturer in Biomedical Science and event organiser, said: “We are really excited in the School of Applied Sciences to showcase the research of our students and staff to the general public, allowing them an insight to what we do here and why it is important.

“I think it will be an excellent way to spend a July afternoon this Summer and I’m really looking forward to it!”

Tickets are free and are selling fast so please register here if you would like to attend the event.

Refreshments will be provided and there will even be live music too – see you there!
