Evans was named as the winner of the Student Award at the 2025 edition of the Creative Edinburgh Awards, after being named among the four finalists.

He was formally presented with the honour during a ceremony at Central Hall on Friday.

The Creative Edinburgh Awards celebrate the best in local talent and innovation, with Evans being recognised for his dedication to the Edinburgh Napier student community.

Among his achievements as ENSA President, he has founded the Napier Student Film Festival, supporting student creators at the University and beyond.

The second edition of the festival was held at ENU’s Craiglockhart earlier this month – including a total selection of 23 short films from universities in 11 different countries. It has drawn industry praise for inspiring the next generation of filmmakers.

For Evans, the Napier Student Film Festival builds on his passion for cinema, having previously founded the Accra Indie Film Festival in Ghana. He has also worked to establish AiF Edinburgh Connect, a new partnership between the two festivals.

Responding to his Creative Edinburgh Award win, Evans said: "Sometimes, we hope others will do something for us but instead, we find ourselves doing so much for others. Yet, in giving, we receive.

“Every contribution comes back one way or another, and on Friday, Creative Edinburgh placed a beautiful stamp on my journey so far."
