Free sanitary products are now available for all Edinburgh Napier students as part of a new Scottish Government scheme.

The Univeristy has committed to providing a range of free sanitary products to students until at least March 2019.

This has been made possible thanks to funding from the Scottish Government, which has enabled every school, college and university in the country to provide these type of products free of charge.

Edinburgh Napier has made the products available through dedicated storage units across all three of its campuses and its accommodation sites at Bainfield, Orwell Terrace and Slateford Road.

The scheme has been put in place to make sanitary products available to those who need them in a sensitive and dignified way with a view to making it easier for students to focus fully on their studies.

The collection points will be maintained and replenished frequently and all students are encouraged to feedback their experience of accessing the free products in order for the team behind the scheme to maximise its impact.

Locations for the products are as follows:

  • Merchiston – outside room B56, along from the Apex Café
  • Craiglockhart – room 1/53, near the West entrance next to cash machine
  • Sighthill – room 1.D.05, near the essay submission boxes
  • Bainfield – Main reception, laundry room, female toilet upstairs from common room
  • Orwell Terrace – East Kip toilets
  • Slateford Road – Castlelaw toilets
