Dr Liz Aston to take up post in June

Edinburgh Napier’s Dr Liz Aston has been appointed the next Director of the Scottish Institute for Policing Research.

Liz has been an active member of the SIPR research community for more than ten years and is a member of the Police-Community Relations Brokering Team. 

She has an outstanding record of collaborative research on policing both in Scotland and in Europe, including involvement in major international projects on community policing and stop and search.

She is also highly experienced in knowledge exchange and in building strong research-practitioner relationships. 

In addition to this expertise, Liz has significant leadership and management experience in higher education and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Criminology and Head of Social Sciences at Edinburgh Napier.

Liz will take up the post of SIPR Director in June.
