Edinburgh Napier, the only University partner to the Chamber, was delighted to sponsor the category as 270 guests enjoyed the return of an in-person awards ceremony.

Skyrora - which designs, manufactures, and deploys rockets to clear the way for small satellite manufacturers looking to access space – was crowned a winner at an event which saw entries at an all-time high.

Headquartered in Edinburgh with facilities located across Europe, the business is developing launch vehicle technology to ensure that the life-changing benefits of space are realised here on Earth.

Skyrora is also committed to reducing direct impact on the environment by actively managing waste, emissions, and consumption of natural resources, and strives for the majority of its supply chain to originate from local contractors in order to minimise carbon footprint.

Karen Ritchie, Chief Executive of Midlothian & East Lothian Chamber of Commerce, said after the ceremony:It was great to see so many businesses recognised at the awards.

“After such a tough period for companies, the innovation and determination shown by our two regions business community demonstrates resilience and resourcefulness that is unique to Midlothian and East Lothian. I would like to wish all of those businesses who were highly commended and proud winners on the night my sincere congratulations.”
