Fitness classes

We offer a variety of classes for every level of fitness and interest, including Bodypump, Spinning, Zumba, Yoga and Pilates at our Sighthill campus. Classes are open to students, staff and members of the public.


Hatton boxing

This pad-based boxing for fitness class is designed to assist weight loss, muscle tone, increased fitness and all the fun of training like a boxer without the contact.


Intense indoor group cycling that burns as much as 500 calories in just 40 minutes. This highly effective workout allows you to control your own level of intensity to suit your fitness ability.


We take the “work” out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. A total workout, combining all elements of fitness - cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and a serious dose of awesome each time you leave class.

This dynamic high energy class is designed to give you a full body workout. You will move through a number of different stations that will challenge your individual level of fitness.


You work flat out in 3 to 5 minute blocks, and take breaks only long enough to gulp some air and get right back to work. It’s called max interval training because it keeps your body working at maximum capacity through your entire workout.

Fitness pilates

Fitness Pilates is a total body conditioning class which uses a mixture of standing and seated exercises aimed at increasing muscular strength, improving posture and improving core and back strength. It also assists in strengthening the pelvic floor, improving flexibility of the spine and stabilisation of the core muscles during movement.


This is a full body, strength and stretch based routine that helps build strength and flexibility. It can be taught as a 30, 45 or 60-minute class and options are given for modifications so it is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels.

Mind and body


Strengthen, elongate and restore your body to balance. Pilates is designed to engage your core and improve posture and flexibility.


Yoga encompasses all areas of mind, body and spirit. Increase your strength and flexibility and find serenity in the moment.

Hatha yoga

A combination of mind and body exercises using breathing and strong holding techniques to develop muscle tone, flexibility and posture.

Flow yoga

Vinyasa yoga or flow yoga is a series of poses that will move you through the power of inhaling and exhaling. Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement”. Vinyasa movements are smoothly flowing and almost dance-like, which explains why it is sometimes referred to as Vinyasa Flow or just Flow.

Tai Chi Chuan

This is a gentle martial and movement art which focuses on movement control. This class is great for keeping the mind calm and focused.

You’ll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle while you squat, press, lift and curl with barbells to the latest chart-topping music.

Abs and core

A 30 minute workout to shape and tone your mid-section.

SMRT Core + abs

A conditioning class focusing on your core muscles (abdominals, back, hips stability) combined with foam-rolling to help promote muscle flexibility.

Legs, Bums and Tums

This class focuses on technique and toning rather than intensity; targeting specific problem areas. A short aerobic warm-up may be included followed by a series of exercises for legs, bums and abdominal areas.

Les Mills Virtual fitness

We also provide the following Les Mills fitness classes at Sighthill which can be booked by calling or emailing the [EN]GAGE Sport Centre:

  • SH'BAM (30 or 45 minutes)
  • Body Balance (Flexibility (30 minutes), Strength (30 minutes) or Full class (60 minutes))
  • Body Combat (30 or 60 minutes)
