Scottish Rugby Academy

The Scottish Rugby Union's (SRU) Fosroc Scottish Rugby Academy has been based at Edinburgh Napier's Sighthill Campus since June 2015.

This partnership has spurred investment into new facilities for both the sports centre and rugby academy such as more accessible gym equipment, a running track, two new state of the art fitness studios.

The Academy aims to produce a consistent flow of high quality players and coaches and supports aspiring rugby players to develop their skills, to ensure the future success of rugby in Scotland to improve performance levels and increase participation in sport for the wider community.

Cricket Scotland

The university provides strength and conditioning coaching and gives academy members access to the ENGAGE gym facilities, where a two-bay net lane has been installed.

Players who are selected for the academy will have the opportunity to apply for a course at Edinburgh Napier, including a jointly funded PhD studentship in an area related to cricket. Athletes and coaches will access the university’s Centre for Developing Athletes, including its dual career policy to support their academic studies.

Schools, community groups and other cricket clubs will also be able to use the two-bay net lane in ENGAGE at certain times to encourage even more participation in the sport.
