Our film facilities provide the spaces and equipment for our students to hone their craft and bring their vision to life.
Projection screening room
The projection screening room is equipped with a 4k projector and 5.1 sound, and is used mostly to show students different media in a space that can showcase them fully. It is used for lectures, and also for screenings of student work.
Teaching studios and rooms
The Teaching studio can be used for a range of purposes. There is a projector for showing media, but also 20 dual display iMacs which students can use to work on, complete with Pro Tools and Media Composer. Our teaching room both also have projectors. Another space has 5 iMacs with dual screen display and colour grading monitor, so it can be used for Media Composer, and another has 6 iMacs, also with dual screen display and Focusrite Scarlett audio interface for Pro Tools use. If you study with us, these rooms are where you’ll spend a lot of your taught hours, but you can also use them to work independently.
Edit suites
Our edit suites include an Individual Media Composer room with iMac and calibrated monitor. This equipment is for our more advanced student to complete their editing and colour grading work.
Dubbing suite
The dubbing suite allows students to undertake final dubbing stage mixing of their work. The space is set up with Avid S6, for efficient editing and mixing control, iMac Pro and Dolby Atmos for full surround sound effects.
Foley Booth
The Foley booth is complete with an array of props, allowing students to experiment and find the right sounds to complete their work.
Online suites
Dedicated edit suites for colour grading. Dual monitors and a 24” calibrated monitor, 24TB Raid storage and an Artist DNxIO in each room to manage full resolution colour grading and final delivery. MAV21 also houses a DaVinci Resolve Mini Panel for dedicated colour correction control.
Sound suites
The sound suites include an Individual Pro Tools room with iMac, stereo and surround speakers, where students can complete audio editing and mixing.
Voice booth
For recording voice overs and automated dialogue replacement (ADR), the voice booth is a dedicated, soundproof room.
