Tom Kitchin standing at the backdoor of a restaurant kitchen with an apron onTom Kitchin demonstrates a culinary CV that extends from early training at the Gleneagles Hotel to experience garnered from some of the world’s most renowned chefs and restaurants, including Pierre Koffmann and the three Michelin Star La Tante Claire restaurant in London, three Michelin Star restaurant Guy Savoy in Paris, and Alain Ducasse’s three Michelin Star Le Louis XV restaurant in Monte Carlo. 

Tom became Scotland’s youngest Michelin Starred Chef-Proprietor, having achieved the accolade aged only 29, just six months after he opened his restaurant The Kitchin on Edinburgh’s Leith waterfront. 

Today, Tom Kitchin and his wife Michaela lead a talented team across three venues in Edinburgh and East Lothian – Michelin Star restaurant The Kitchin, leading gastro pub The Scran & Scallie in Stockbridge and The Bonnie Badger, their first restaurant with rooms in Gullane, East Lothian.  Tom and his wife Michaela have announced they will open a new restaurant concept this spring.  ‘KORA by Tom Kitchin’ will open in Edinburgh’s Bruntsfield area, presenting a passionate celebration of Scotland’s land and sea.

Tom and Michaela Kitchin were named ‘UK Restauranteurs of the Year” in 2019 at the prestigious UK Restaurant Awards. 

Tom’s ethos and success is greatly inspired by his genuine love of working with the very best seasonal, Scottish ingredients and his ‘From Nature to Plate’ philosophy, which is now synonymous with his portfolio of successful restaurants.

Tom Kitchin has released four cookbooks with the most recent being Fish & Shellfish published in 2017, following on from the success of Meat & Game, Kitchin Suppers and From Nature to Plate, Seasonal Recipes from The Kitchin.
