The School of Health & Social Care prepares its students for rewarding careers that enrich the practical world and help further nursing research. We are the only institution in Scotland to provide all fields of nursing practice and midwifery pre-registration programmes.

Clinical Skills Centre

The School of Health Social Care is one of the largest providers of nursing and midwifery education in Scotland and a significant provider in the UK. Uniquely in Scotland, the School offers midwifery and all four fields of practice in nursing: adult, child health, mental health and learning disabilities. 

The school also offers taught postgraduate courses in Advanced Practice, including non-medical prescribing, and other flexible routes to Masters level study and CPD.  

The number of taught post-graduate students (both within the UK and international) is growing, as are the number of post-graduate research students.  The school has a strong transnational education portfolio, with a number of successful programmes in countries such as Singapore and Hong Kong.
