Help the most vulnerable students during the pandemic.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19, many Edinburgh Napier students have lost their zero-hours jobs. Their student status means they are unable to access income and housing support.
Some of our international students have become stranded in Edinburgh due to closed borders, unsure of when they will see their families again.
To support our students, the University has put in place Crisis Support Funding. One hundred per cent of these funds support our most vulnerable students and particularly those not covered by Scottish Government funds.
Without these funds, many students would be struggling to keep a roof over their head and purchase food and essential items during lockdown measures.
The demand for this support has been overwhelming and we expect more and more students to need assistance as the crisis continues.
Thank you to all who have supported the Crisis Fund so far.
When we opened the fund, we were overwhelmed with applications. There were more students in need than we had the resource to help. We asked for help and you answered.
Because of your generosity, we have been able to help more than 400 students. Some of them have included personal messages of thanks in the video below.
However, more students continue to need assistance. When we recently re-opened the fund, we received 267 applications in a 24-hour period. If you can, please continue to support our students and help us keep this fund open.
These are difficult times for everyone, but if you are in a position to help these students, your gift will make a huge impact.
Plus, if you are a UK Taxpayer, you can increase the value of your donation through Gift Aid at no cost to yourself.
