Do you know someone who has shown excellence and distinction in their career and who has made a positive contribution to the Edinburgh Napier community? Nominate them now for the annual Edinburgh Napier Alumni Awards! 

The Alumni Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding achievements of our alumni around the world and showcase the value and impact of their ENU education.   

Nominations close on 31 March 2023.

The University seeks to formally recognise these individuals who are role models for our current students and an inspiration to the entire ENU community. 

This year we will award two categories - the Impact Award and the Rising Star Award.    

Impact Award 

This category recognises an alumnus who has achieved success in their profession and is active within the Edinburgh Napier community.  

The winner of the Impact Award will have made a difference through their professional, voluntary, or charitable activities. Additionally, they will be a great supporter of the ENU community. Examples of support include undertaking a volunteer role at the University, such as doing a guest lecture, taking on placement students or being a mentor. You are also a supporter of the community if you hire students or graduates, collaborate with other alumni on projects or run informal networking groups.

Rising Star Award

This category recognises the achievements of a recent graduate who has already achieved professional success in their short career.  

The winner of the Rising Star Award will be making a positive contribution to their community through their professional or voluntary contributions and are a great supporter Edinburgh Napier University. 

Candidates must have completed their studies within the last 5 years.

Who is eligible? 

  • All nominees must be alumni of Edinburgh Napier University. Nominees may have gained a degree or qualification from Edinburgh Napier University, or any of its antecedent institutions and at any Edinburgh Napier study location around the world. 
  • Self-nominations will not be accepted, and previous winners of a particular award category are not eligible for reconsideration in the same category. 
  • Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination. 
  • Groups of alumni will also be considered for nomination. 

Additional information  

  • The submission deadline is Friday 31 March 2023. All completed nominations received via the online nomination form before this deadline will be considered. 
  • Edinburgh Napier University alumni, staff and students can nominate alumni for an award.   
  • You can submit multiple nominations, however all must be submitted separately. All nominations will be treated confidentially.  


Friday 31 March 2023: Deadline for nominations. A shortlisting panel will review all nominations received before the deadline and will present a shortlist to the award panel.   

April 2023: All shortlisted candidates will be contacted to confirm they accept the nomination 

Late April 2023: Award panel to meet to select winners. This will be chaired by Geoffrey H. Day, Director of Marketing and External Relations and Honorary Graduate. 

Autumn 2023: Winners to be announced  

Autumn 2023: Winners to undertake separate student engagement activities which provide insights into their industries. Types of activities include a guest lecture, workshop or tour of their business premises.
