Buchi Chinwuba

Buchi graduated from Edinburgh Napier in 2015 with a LLB in Law. She is now the University’s Regional Manager for West Africa.

Describe your experience of being a student at Edinburgh Napier

Edinburgh Napier University was a classic for me in the sense that it gave me everything I needed as a student. Equipped library, serene environment, a fun city, friends from all over the world and most importantly, gave me the best colleagues when I became a student Ambassador.

What is your current role at ENU?

I am the Regional Manager- West Africa. This role recruits students from Nigeria and Ghana especially to study full time in the UK, it also seeks to bridge the gap between Edinburgh and the students that come from West Africa even after graduation.

What is the best part of your job?

Best part of my job is having the ability to help the students who want to study in Edinburgh Napier achieve their dream of studying in a world class university.

What is your favourite place in Nigeria?

I am not sure I have a favourite place in Nigeria as different regions showcase beautiful talents and comfort!

What was your most memorable moment from your time studying at Edinburgh Napier?

Working in placement with the computing department for three months in early 2020, when the world was pandemic free!

I worked on the web app for the new Internet of Things Laboratory and collaborated with other students on placement working in an Agile environment. It was a good time for me doing a project in Python which also inspired me to train a machine learning model for my MSc Project.

What do you do now?

I work with Cardiff Metropolitan University as a Web Development Officer.

What is your favourite place in Nigeria?

I'd say Omagba, Onitsha in Anambra State where I was born. Onitsha holds a lot of my childhood memories. It was a calm city and a bit fast-paced on some days.
