Course introduction

Building on your existing skills, this course provides you with a detailed knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of hospitality management, preparing you for a career in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Based at City of Glasgow College, this course offers you the opportunity to qualify for a BA degree.

The course has been specially designed for you to progress easily from further to higher education and top up your qualification to Bachelor level at City of Glasgow College, with the option to continue to Honours at the Business School at Edinburgh Napier.

On this one year full-time course you'll develop your skills in the design, delivery and management of food, beverage and accommodation to top industry standards within a global business environment.

You'll enter directly into Year 3 of the degree. Upon successful completion of Year 3, you'll be eligible for a Bachelors degree.  You may choose to transfer to the Business School to complete Year 4 where, upon successful completion, you will be eligible for an Honours degree.

Although you'll be studying at City of Glasgow College, you will be officially enrolled as a student of Edinburgh Napier University.

You’ll learn by a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials and through independent study.

Your qualification acts as a stepping stone to graduate management training schemes with major multinational hotel groups, or can be a route into junior management positions in a range of sectors.

Minimum year 3


Pass in a related subject with grades B at SCQF Level 8 in the graded unit(s).

English language requirements

If your first language isn't English, you'll normally need to undertake an approved English language test and our minimum English language requirements will apply.
