Why did you apply through Clearing?

I didn't meet the grades I needed at college, so it was nearly impossible for me to get accepted to the university course I wanted.

My friend recommended Clearing to me - he said if I really wanted to go to Edinburgh Napier then it’s never too late. I applied and hoped for the best.

How did you find the process?

I found Clearing very easy and simple to use. It was really quick. After I applied, I was contacted by the University to tell me there was a space for me. The staff were so helpful and explained everything I needed to do.

Clearing gave me the opportunity to join my dream course. It was the best decision I ever made.

What drew you to Edinburgh Napier?

The biggest appeal was how kind and well-prepared the lecturers I had met were. When I was looking at universities, Edinburgh Napier stood out as the most prestigious and my friend was also planning to study here, which made me feel more at ease.

Another attraction was the Craiglockhart campus. The building was used as a military hospital in WWI and the vintage style architecture is my favourite.

Has the course lived up to expectations?

The course has been even better than I expected. Blended learning has been a much easier experience than I thought - there are recorded lectures to go back over and lecturers are great at responding to my questions.

I came into the University expecting to be studying all the time and have no breathing room for myself. Instead, I've been able to meet up with classmates and take time to relax outside of learning.

What advice do you have for anyone applying through Clearing?

Go for it. If you didn't get accepted to a university because of your qualifications or other factors, trying Clearing could give you the positive outcome you want. It's a helping hand if you need it, and a stepping stone for your future career.
