Eduardo Segredo was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain, on June 17, 1984. He received the BSc (Hons) Degree in Computer Science from the Universidad de La Laguna, San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Spain, in 2006, the MSc Degree in Computer Science from the Universidad de La Laguna, in 2008, and the PhD in Computer Science from the Universidad de La Laguna, in 2014. During the summer of 2011 and 2012, he was a visitor at the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) and the Edinburgh Napier University, Edinburgh, UK. He is currently a Senior Research Fellow in the School of Computing of the Edinburgh Napier University. He has published more than 30 scientific papers in prestigious journals (e.g. IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics and Journal of Global Optimization, among others) and conferences (e.g. IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation, Genetic and Evolutionary Computation Conference, and Parallel Problem Solving from Nature, among others). Finally, he is a member of the IEEE and IEEE Computational Intelligence Society since 2014.
