Biography

Grant Sinclair is a Lecturer and Programme Lead for the honours degree in Building Surveying and Head of Learning and Teaching and also currently Academic Lead for Student Experience in the School of Engineering and the Built Environment at Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland. Grant graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in Glasgow, in 1996, gaining eight years post-graduation experience as a practitioner, six of which in a busy London practice. He became a fully Chartered Building Surveyor in1998. He has worked as an external advisor and an external examiner for a range of universities and stakeholders in the UK, one of which was Registers of Scotland [the Land Registry]. He has also had appointments to provided external oversight to the continuation and quality of UK Universities. His teaching specialisms are Conservation and the Preservation of Historic Buildings and Building Pathology; and using visual learning techniques and building inspection/surveys to enhance the student learning experience.
