Michelle O’Reilly, Clinical Director - Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre, School of Health and Social Care, Edinburgh Napier University, United Kingdom. I am a registered nurse for over 20 years and a Lecturer in Adult Nursing. I remain passionate about the nursing profession and aim to instill this passion in others. I am enthusiastic about teaching and learning, dedicated to improving professional practice and students’ experience. I believe that students respond best when in environments which challenge them to think for themselves, in a creative way. I actively encourage lots of questions and collaborative working to ensure students collectively learn from successes and failures, hence building both their knowledge and resilience. I build trusting relationships with students, which is the foundation of this supportive yet challenging learning platform. I am the appointed academic lead for Simulation and Clinical Skills, Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and won a 2018 National Teaching Fellow Award.
