University Tutor

Biography

I am currently a University Tutor teaching across the sport and exercise science programmes. Prior to joining Edinburgh Napier University in 2015, I completed the MSc Studentship at the University of Worcester and was a Teaching Fellow in Sport and Exercise Sciences at Abertay University. Professionally, I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) Accredited Sport and Exercise Scientist (physiology research). As a practitioner, I have coached and supported athletes from a variety of sports and levels.

Whilst teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students is my primary role and passion, I am also an active researcher. In 2022, I completed a PhD by Published Works entitled: 'All-out sprinting: reliability and sensitivity of testing, and the effects of work-to-rest ratio and exercise modality'. I have several research interests including:
• Optimisation of interval training for sports performance & health
• Sports performance enhancement, testing & monitoring
• Women’s representation and experiences in strength and conditioning coaching
• Strength and conditioning
