Biography

Ruth has over 20 years’ experience as a professional designer and has worked in Higher Education since 2009. While maintaining a professional practice she now works full-time at Edinburgh Napier University as a lecturer in Product Design and the Enterprise Lead for the School of Arts and Creative Industries.
With a background in premium consumer products, she was the Chief Product Designer for Linn Products and Tannoy Ltd, having completed flagship work for Aston Martin. Ruth’s Professional Practice now focuses on Design Thinking and Design for Social Change in which she has advised both the Scottish and UK governments.
She has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Industrial Design from the University of Teesside and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education in Teaching, Learning and Assessment from Edinburgh Napier University
