Biography

Ryo Yamada is a Japanese artist, architect, and professorship work in SACI from 2023. He is born in Tokyo in 1968 and granted PhD of art degree from the Tokyo University of the arts. His projects are situated beyond boundaries of architecture and art where the connection with nature environment, through spatial investigations mostly in wood, but also paper and textile is a central element. The language of the material is important to Yamada something which has been a theme in his teaching at the various universities especially Sapporo City University School of Design where he has taught since 2007. He has granted several international design awards, also be published academic journal articles. About this his parallel activity is a unique that both way environmental artist and researcher, in the same time it has evaluated successfully from both design and academic institutions.
