Biography

Suzi Cathro is a PhD student studying the role of creating meaningful experiences using Mixed Reality for Higher Education. Having studied her undergraduate degree in Digital media and interaction design, her honours project gained funding that allowed her to travel to a township school for young people with disabilities to create culturally relevant animations using motion capture technology. She then went on to undertake a MA in Design for Art and interactive experiences where her dissertation focused on the use of emotion in virtual museums. Her interests lie in mixed reality, education as well as cultural heritage. Having worked on various research projects focussed on topics such as techno-spirituality, LGBTQ+ safe spaces and educational kits for young people from disadvantaged areas her passion lies firmly within using technology to enhance the lives of those that use it.
