Dr Tony Douglas is Associate Professor of Strategic Selling and Sales Management and the Director of the Edinburgh Institute (Sales Division) - the centre for excellence for selling and sales management at Edinburgh Napier University. He has delivered sales and marketing support to Food and Drink SMEs through the Scottish Enterprise Supplier Development Food Retail and Food Services Programmes.
He has held a number of senior positions within the FMCG sector over a 20+ year period. His FMCG career has included management roles within Safeway Stores, Tesco plc, Gerber Foods Import and as Sales and Marketing Director of the highly profitable Kinnerton Company Ltd. He has led the development of hundreds of branded and private label food, confectionery and gifting products for premier retailers in the UK and internationally.
Tony obtained his Doctorate in Business Administration at Edinburgh Napier in 2013, with research area of an exploration into SMEs and the sales process. He is also a lecturer delivering and leading postgraduate modules in the areas of selling, enterprise and strategy.
