Biography

Zuberia is an experienced lecturer and researcher in the fields of Strategy, International Management, Human
Resources/Organisational Psychology and Business Ethics/CSR. As a versatile academic researcher, her research interests are mainly guided by her fields of expertise as well as Scholarship of Learning and Teaching (SoLT). She holds a PhD in Organisations and Management with her thesis titled, ‘A Grounded Theory of Web of Ties and Competitive Advantage in a Small Island Economy’. Zuberia is passionate about realism/critical realism guided qualitative research philosophy such as grounded theory, but also masters quantitative research methodologies, as reflected in her published articles and book chapters on the following areas: International HRM in Emerging Multinational Enterprises (EMNEs), Ageing population and the SDGs, CSR Reporting, Technological Adoption Model (TAM) and E-learning, Outcomes of Technological Adoption, Women Studies. Her main research interests are in the field of IHRM, Strategy, Relational Strategy, Theories of Multiple Intelligence (Cultural and Emotional Intelligence), Social Network and Teaching and Learning.

Prior to starting her employment at the Edinburgh Napier University (ENU), she held a rich career as a Senior Lecturer and Pyscho-Technician, at the Curtin Mauritius, a branch campus of the Australian’s highly ranked Curtin University (AACSB and EQUIS accredited). In her academic role, she has been involved in curriculum design and review, board of examiners, academic member representative of the Curtin Academic Board, career counsellor, and amongst others. Her holistic and student-centered approach to teaching and learning induced students’ rising grades and their commendation, including the prestigious Wiley Award in Strategic Management. Zuberia is now employed at the ENU as Lecturer in Strategic Management and appointed as the Deputy Programme Leader for the MBA Strategic Project Management Course in the Business School.
