Start date and time
Friday 10 June 2016
Location
Edinburgh Napier University Craiglockhart Campus
Tackling inequality and enhancing opportunities for all groups in the labour market continues to be a priority for government. However, research highlights the persistent inequalities in the labour market. One way in which these inequalities can manifest themselves, can be through skills shortages.
This workshop will hear from a range of speakers about the important role employers can take in tackling these inequalities in the labour market and some of the approaches currently being adopted by a variety of employers in Scotland. It will give insights as to which approaches work best and why in terms of achieving sustained change. These discussions will be underpinned by research on a range of key sectors in the economy, which has been undertaken by researchers at Edinburgh Napier University.
This workshop will be of particular interest to: employers with an interest in learning about a range of examples to strengthen the diversity of their workforce; HR professionals; and equality and diversity professionals.
