A revolt is needed to protect our privacy, leading professor claims

Professor Alistair Duff insists the rise of technology such as facial recognition (FRT), CCTV and smart devices is robbing us of our right to some seclusion amid the whirl of modern living. But he fears that unless Scots rebel to halt the march of the database state and information-hungry corporations, we will never roll back the gathering intrusion into our personal space. Now the Edinburgh Napier University expert has issued a call to arms for the public to become privacy activists in their own daily lives.
