3D printed St Gabriel’s Chapel musical souvenir with interchangeable components
The research group have created a musical, 3D printed souvenir with interchangeable components so that the owner can create their own, personalised version of the musical experience after they have visited the church and experienced the musical performance. When each section of the model is attached to the base plate it will trigger the corresponding music composed for that section of the building. The visitor can thus play back the music they heard within the space and control the sequencing and volume of the piece. The musical composition and souvenirs are directly inspired by the architectural elements of St Gabriel’s Church, an ‘underloved’ concrete brutalist chapel in central Scotland.
