Biomethane for Sustainable Heavy Goods Transport: Exploring Attitudes of Freight Operators in Europe
The presentation effectively addresses the highly relevant and crucial issue of decarbonising heavy goods transport, a significant contributor to overall emissions. By concentrating on the attitudes of freight operators, the research targets a key group in the adoption of alternative fuels, and its European context is valuable, given the EU's active pursuit of emissions reduction targets and related policies. The application of the HOT-Fit framework provides a well-structured approach to analysing the factors that influence technology adoption. As a result, the findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and industry stakeholders seeking to promote the uptake of biomethane in the freight sector. Overall, the presentation makes a valuable contribution to understanding the factors that influence the adoption of biomethane as a fuel for heavy goods transport, and it underscores the importance of considering the attitudes and perceptions of freight operators in the transition towards more sustainable transportation.
