Havana Glasgow Film Festival - Screening and discussion of "the Govan Banners" (12/11/2016).

"The Govan Banners" (2010) which I produced and directed with Plantation Productions charts a group of Seniors researching the history of banners found in a Govan hall relating to the Spanish Civil War. The film follows their search to discover the banners origins and further about the history of Govan and Glasgow's involvement in the Spanish Civil War.

My ongoing research into participatory and community media production observes ways in which the film continues to be received and how contributors and participants to the film engage with audiences.

Discussion after the screening related to community media production and in relation to international contexts, such as in Cuba.
