Heat transfer between gas fluidized beds and immersed surfaces
Various models of heat transfer between the emulsion phase of a gas fluidized bed and immersed surfaces are discussed. It is shown that certain features of these models, such as the contact resistance or a gas film between the surface and the solid particles, are related to the statistical variation of the thermal properties of the emulsion phase in the vicinity of the heat transfer surface. The variation of the thermal properties of the emulsion phase is accounted for directly in models using the concept of the property boundary layer.
