Organizational Virtuousness: A Systematic Review of Antecedents, Mediators, Moderators and Outcomes
In recent years, there has been a growing academic interest in the examination of organizational virtuousness. However, the existing body of literature on this topic is fragmented and lacks clear guidance for future research directions. There is a distinct need for a comprehensive study that can offer valuable insights into the research and practice of virtuousness within the field of organizational studies. This review aims to enhance a holistic understanding of organizational virtuousness by integrating and critically examining relevant literature. Through an analysis of 49 pertinent studies, this review consolidates the antecedents and outcomes of organizational virtuousness, as well as the mediating and moderating factors that influence the relationship between organizational virtuousness and workplace outcomes. It presents an integrated and cohesive framework of organizational virtuousness by advocating for analysis at both the individual and organizational levels within the organizational literature. Lastly, the review outlines potential avenues for future research in this area.
