The road out of poverty.
Donkey ownership in Ethiopia can directly improve people's livelihoods, even the landless and powerless. Donkey ownership diversifies income-generating activities and reduces labour burden within the household. Better health and welfare of donkeys extends their working life and improves economic security of their owners. The DFID Livestock Production Programme Funds the CTVM and EARO to develop and deliver simple effective solutions to alleviate problems of Ethiopian donkeys - helping communities take their first steps out of poverty.
