A Critical Evaluation of the efficiency and potential of Artificial Intelligence in personalising Exercise Prescription for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation in Cardiovascular Disease Patients
  Artificial intelligence (AI) driven digital solutions can support the shift of exercise-based cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation (CVPR) from clinical services to patients’ home by enabling individualised exercise prescriptions. Tailored aerobic exercise guidance for those with heart disease must contain activity type, frequency, intensity, and duration to meet patient-specific needs. Integrating AI into CVPR exercise guidance offers the potential to enhance precision and personalisation, empowering CVPR professionals to prescribe and patients to engage in effective, home-based care.
Research questions:
1.Can AI accurately factor in resting heart rate, age, medication effects, variations in left ventricular function and co-morbidities to ensure safe and effective CVPR aerobic and strength exercise prescriptions as per the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) and European Society of Cardiology (ESC) CVPR exercise guidelines tailored to individual patient needs?
2.How acceptable are AI-generated exercise prescriptions to CVPR staff and patients?
